About Rudra:

Rudra Das Acharya (Reverend Rob Touchstone) is a prolific poet, storyteller, and songwriter whose spiritual journey has been a long and winding road through territories of many traditions. While living in Los Angeles, he took classes in sacramental theology at St Mary of the Angels as a confirmed altarman; in esoteric Christianity and Tarot symbolism at Ecclesia Gnostica as a confirmed acolyte; in Tree of Life at the Kaballah Center; in Hermetic magick and Tibetan yoga at the Philosophical Research Society; in Mahayana Buddhism at a Mount Baldy Zen Center retreat; in Hinayana Buddhism, comparative mythology, alternate religious movements, Platonic philosophy, and Nietzschean existentialism at Antioch University LA; and in meditation techniques at the Self-Realization Fellowship, Vedanta Society of LA, Shivananda Yoga-Vedanta Center, and Montclair Vedic Temple. He was initiated into the Rosicrucian Order of the Grail at Besant Lodge and participated with Neo-Pagan friends in seasonal rituals. Locally, Rudracharya served as a monk at the Shri Shri Radha Krishna Temple, and received his pujari training certificate at the West Virginia New Vrindavan ashram. He found a home for his spiritual seeking in his practice as a Shaiva devotee, learning from gurus in both the Nandinath Siddhanta and Trika Tantra lineages.

He received his Baccalaureate and Master of Fine Arts degrees from Antioch University Los Angeles and taught English literature as a professor at the University of New Mexico, as well as seminars at Antioch LA and University of Arizona. As a musician he has performed professionally at venues in Los Angeles, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Like a bee zipping from flower to flower to gather various flavours of nectar, Rudracharya/Rev. Rob has accumulated knowledge from myriad wisdom traditions to synthesize a broadly inclusive system of spiritual teaching. These lessons he shares through mythic storytelling and original songs and kirtan, accompanied by his lifemate Liberty and their young son Zane.
